Rev. Steven C. Hummel, Program Director
Pennsylvania Academy of Ministry
Allow me to take this opportunity to introduce myself to those that I have yet to meet. My name is Steve Hummel and I am the Program Director for the Pennsylvania Academy of Ministry, (formerly Lay Ministry in the 21st Century) a Penn Northeast, Penn Central and Pennsylvania Southeast Conference sponsored laity education program. I am an ordained minister in the United Church of Christ (UCC) and received my Masters of Divinity degree from Lancaster Theological Seminary in 2010 and am currently serving Trinity Reformed UCC in Bloomsburg. I attended Lay Ministry in the 21st Century’s licensed ministry program and served as a UCC Licensed Minister from 2004 to 2010 at Phoebe Home in Allentown as a chaplain associate, St. Peter’s UCC in Allentown as an Interim Minister and finally Trinity UCC in Coplay before becoming their ordained Pastor in 2010.
I am pleased to announce our LIVE BROADCAST, recorded classes, online registration and payment as well as a brand new curriculum for authorized ministry that was adapted to the Marks of Effective Ministry. The Academy is part of the United Church of Christ’s Regional Theological Educational Consortium and works with our Conferences to bring sound educational programs to our local churches to assure growth, leadership and transformation for the future life of our Church. We welcome your input to help us make this one of the premier training programs in the UCC.
